Midnight Skies Collection

Born from the winter solstice’s stillness, this collection shows the quiet magic of cold nights. Pale light from the low hanging sun skims the horizon while ribbons of aurora shimmer above. In winter’s calm, every soft glow and moving color feels like a small wonder during this quiet time of year.

Hi! I’m Rachel Wall

Maker. Creative. Wanderer.

Rachel Wall holding a colorful bouquet of flowers, including roses, dahlias, and leaves.

I’m a passionate painter who primarily works with alcohol inks to create vibrant, expressive artwork. Alaska’s breathtaking landscapes are a constant source of inspiration for me. I’m always exploring and wandering, camera in hand, capturing the ever-changing colors, textures, and moods of the landscape. I’m continually amazed by the beauty that surrounds me.

Back in the studio, I draw on these experiences and translate them into bold, expressive bursts of color, inspired by the fluid, unpredictable nature of alcohol inks. Experimentation and play are at the heart of my creative process, guiding me to stay curious, embrace the unexpected, and see where the art takes me.

It’s become the core of my practice—and my motto: Just play. Just create.

A LARGE custom order in the works. ✨ Did you know I can turn my original artworks into almost any size print to fit your custom needs? The originals for these images are smaller than an 11x14 and I was able to enlarge them without pixelation to a 30x40, 36x48 and a 36x72. That’s HUGE! #alcoholinkartist #alcoholinkartcommunity #alcoholink #alcoholinkart #alcoholinkpainting
Putting that @art_resin shine to finish this piece. One of my favorite parts - it just brings the piece to life! #artresin #alcoholinkartist #alcoholinkartcommunity #alcoholink #alcoholinkart #alcoholinkpainting #artflowsessions
January 2024 brought something truly special. This collection was born over a few short days, and I'm smitten with the deep blues against the soft, peach-colored skies. The frosty trees have my heart. Call me the ice queen, but I LOVE WINTER! #alcoholinkartist #alcoholinkartcommunity #alcoholink #justplay #alcoholinkart #alcoholinkpainting #justcreate #artflowsessions #inspiredbynature #winterinalaska #akwintervibes

I love the dark, peaceful days, the frost-covered trees, and the softer color palette. As we head into the darkest days, the contrast of the peach-colored sunsets against the snowy blues is just stunning. It started as a small project… That itch to organize has turned into a pretty extensive overhaul of my studio space. Moved some furniture out, brought in some new (to me) and have done quite a bit of rearranging. I’m excited to show the new and improved space. Until then, enjoy another Timelapse of me cleaning of my work table. Timelapse always makes cleaning and organizing more fun. If only it took 35 seconds… #alcoholinkartist #alcoholinkartcommunity #alcoholink #alcoholinkart #messymaker #messymakersunite
I collected all my random, in-process artworks from the entire studio and got them organized! It finally hit and I couldn’t take the chaos anymore. It’s like reading an old diary. Each color batch brings me back to that time and place and where my head was at during that time. #alcoholinkartist #alcoholinkartcommunity #justplay #alcoholink #alcoholinkpainting #alcoholinkart #justcreate #inspiredbynature #messymaker
Doing a little housework in the studio. Time to get organized! Sorting all the in-process paper pieces by color story. I’ll revisit these when the season comes. #alcoholinkartist #alcoholinkartcommunity #alcoholink #alcoholinkpainting #alcoholinkart #inspiredbynature
